Gateway to the Gorbeia Natural Park, Orozko is the second largest municipality in Bizkaia with an area of 102 km2 and more than 100 neighborhoods scattered throughout the valley. The extremely rich natural and ethnographic heritage that this municipality possesses is reflected in its landscape.
Zubiaur is the main nucleus of the municipality of Orozko with functions of capital. This is where the Orozko bourgeoisie, owners of iron industries, mills, forests and tenement hamlets, built their baroque and neoclassical palaces throughout the 18th and 19th centuries, as well as large mansions.
